In history, Year 4 have been learning all about the Romans and what legacy they left behind. The children have been most fascinated learning about the Romans’ sophisticated battle techniques, their innovative engineering and their progressive ideas on law and order.
We have been debating whether the Roman Empire was a force for good or bad. One the one hand, the Romans’ introduced us to central heating and built our roads. However, they were ruthless as a people and did not care about taking over a land and suppressing the native culture.
The jury is still out but by the end of term we will have come to our conclusion.
