This half term, Year 6 have been learning about electrical circuits and how electricity is generated. We have been using the recognised symbols to design and create simple circuits and have been carrying out enquiries around the variation in how components function, including the brightness of lamps and volume of buzzers. Our line of enquiry will continue to work towards comparing battery and solar powered circuits. Equipped with this knowledge and practical experience of working scientifically will enable each child to communicate their well-reasoned responses to our big question posed at the start of the topic: Is it possible to rely solely on renewable energy?
