Doing Simple Things Really Well

Part of our whole school approach is making sure we all do simple things really well.

In music 3AW are learning about beat, rhythm and ostinato patterns. We have special chants to help us to remember the important music vocabulary.

‘Beat sets the speed, it keeps the music together.’

‘Rhythm is a pattern of long and short notes.’

‘Ostinato is a repeating pattern; Ostinato is a repeating pattern.’

Here we are all practising different ostinato patterns using the boom whackers. We had to keep to a steady beat so that we were all playing exactly together.
