This term, Year 5 have been really stretching their brains in Religious Education. The unit of study is titled 'Creation and Science - Conflicting or Complimentary?' The over-arching question considering throughout this unit is 'Are they total opposites or do they both point in the same direction?' The children started by considering how and why we exist, then developed their understanding by learning about the Christian creation story and the Big Bang theory. They concluded their learning by comparing the two, looking for similarities and differences.
