This week we have enjoyed celebrating the Christmas season by holding our Carol Services in St Peter's Church.
On Tuesday, Years 3 and 4 presented a wonderful performance to parents and friends, telling the Christmas story with a traditional nativity and festive carols and songs. Our youngest children sang about the little drummer boy in 'Carol of the Drum', and everyone, including staff, sang 'Mary's Boy Child', and finished with a lively song called 'Midnight.'
On Wednesday, Years 5 and 6 shared their performances to a packed church for the second day. The traditional story was once again told through readings and drama, and the music programme included the 'Huron Indian Carol' by Year 5, and Year 6 sang an unaccompanied song in Latin called 'Gaudete'. The staff and children sang 'Following Your Star' in two parts, which was a truly beautiful moment. The orchestra and choir performed different pieces across the four services, all with confidence and enjoyment. The finale song, 'Do they know it's Christmas?', was a perfect way for us all to remember how lucky we are to enjoy the festive season, whilst also thinking of others less fortunate in our world.
We are very proud of our children and our school community, and would like to thank everyone for their continued support. A big thank you to Father John for sharing these services with us, and to St Peter's Church.
